A Fable from a Diary

It was bright morning and all the students were busy preparing for their exams. Amanda a little collegiate girl was rather late for the exam. She was brought to the college premises forcefully by her parents despite repeated denial from her side...
Amanda come over here…
Told one of her lecturers. She never seemed to listen because she was in a stake of complete hallucination and was numb.
Amanda!!!! The Principal yelled on top of his voice.
You didn’t seem to answer any of the internal papers and see what marks you have got! This is the final year!
One of the lecturers interrupted.
Sir, she has good academic pursuits and is a well mannered student and ranks top three in her section. She has remarkable attendance records also. I don’t know what happened to her now.
It is a risk that she attends the final year exam because she didn’t write a single word for the models…

Amanda what happened to you asked her mother…why are you so silent, so quiet …you seemed never to listen to remarks made by your favorite lecturers.
Go to the exam hall now! .Here is your hall ticket. Principal barked. That brought back her consciousness.
She silently strode past where her friends were sitting busy making last minute preparations. Amanda was in complete delusion.
Her mother told her best friend. Dear, Please look after Amanda…She is depressed.
The girls happily called out. No worries Aunty we are here for her.

The girls and boys chorused together making preparations for the test and enjoying themselves. Amanda laid in complete confusion. Her college seemed to her as an alien island wherein she was being experimented .The utter chaos and sounds seems piercing her ears.
She needed to flee from this world .She made up her mind.
Slowly she fled through the courtyard at the back which leads to a narrow passage. A brick wall that outlined the college was embarked by a good backyard beyond which lay the nature motionless .The deep woods and cashew trees lined up at regular intervals of the hill made her mind to excavate the world beyond.

Hungrily she ate all what she had in her lunch box and creeping through the trees he made her way towards the song of nature. She walked past busying herself, destined for a commitment which the God had in store for her.
She walked briskly when she saw a man following her. She made her movements fast, faster. She can’t …Then
She came across a hut seems like 500 centuries old, painted in a purple lilac background with terraced mountains.

A magical incantation…She knocked the wooden door about to fall.No one replied.
She opened the door cracking the silence. She stealthily crept inside …
An old woman stepped out from an epic…
She came out barely dressed …
Amanda got frightened…She asked for plain water to drink…
The lady told…There is the well… You can have it from there.
A hen approached her and bit her foot nails .A paddy field lay bare and a man far across was harvesting the paddy…
She tried to talk with the old woman. So many new people came around. She felt caught in a reverie of long past. Soon she was in an island of beauty…Amanda was caught under the spell of the old lady who was narrating a fable, a myth, folklore!
The lady’s hair was thick like a bush and her body full of wrinkles…She was a character in a fairy tale…
No the muggle man didn’t allow her. He asked her …
Who are you? Why are you here?\

Oh no the man destroyed everything. She struggled for existence. She saw a car in front of the magnificent house. The hut was no more to be seen. The old lady where is she gone?
Oh no!!

Was it a dream? No she couldn’t believe it.

The Principal came out of the car. He yelled Amanda what are doing here?
No longer could she control her remorse…She came out of her realm of world into reality…A Real dream…

Lunatics see things when they are awake. Amanda was able to see the virtual world for a brief amount of time. Knowing the virtual world is in fact a blessing. It’s the point of time when dreams are alive...It’s the fraction of a second between real and virtual paradigm where the beauty of God thrives…

Some men see things as they are and say why…I dream things that never were and say why not...-Unknown Author.
